I have watch a few really good ones.

"Das Leben der anderen" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0405094/)
From IMDB:
"The horrifying, sometimes unintentionally funny system of observation in the former East Germany. In the early 1980s, the successful dramatist Georg Dreyman and his longtime companion Christa-Maria Sieland, a popular actress, are big intellectual stars in the socialist state, although they secretly don't always think loyal to the party line. One day, the Minister of Culture becomes interested in Christa, so the secret service agent Wiesler is instructed to observe and sound out the couple, but their life fascinates him more and more..."

A very interesing drama about DDR and the spying done by the national police, STASI. Totalitarianism results often to suffering and the story of this movie is no different. Apart from being sad, this was also very beautiful movie in its own way.

"Evil" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338309/)
From IMDB:
"Erik is expelled from school for fighting. He ends up at a private boarding school where the senior students control the young ones. Erik finds a friend in Pierre, his room mate. The story revolves around Erik who just wishes to be left alone and graduate. He doesn't listen to what the seniors have to say and they don't like it."

Also very touching movie. Swedish production based on reality, telling a story of a boy caught up in violence and struggling to live amongst twisted values. Really beautiful, but quite violent movie.

Also an Israeli movie titled "Waltz with Bashir" looks interesting. I'm definitely gonna watch it in the few next days.

Not watched alot of new ones lately, which normally I do.
But mainly consist of various Zombie movies.
I watched The Edge of Quarrel for the first time the other night. Goddamn.
I watch Taxi Driver pretty often.
Friday The 13th(all,plus i'm stoaked for the new one coming out soon)
Nightmare on Elm Street (all)
The Life Aquatic(I watch this alot too)
American Psycho
Othello (Shakespeare play, I read the play and the movie would be good)
And a bunch of super cheesy slasher films from the 80's.

Oh, and majority of the Cheech and Chong Series gets a good amount of play here...

Edge of quarrel is cool, but I would not use the word "good".

It's better than say an episode of walker texas ranger, but hey it's a bunch of hardcore kids making a strange movie about the edge.

Saw the trailer for the Defiance film when I went to the cinema last weekend... looked decent, although I'm not a fan of that dude's acting.
They also showed the trailer for Valkyrie - the movie with Tom Cruise about failed attempt to kill Hitler by German officers in 1944. This is gonna be dope!

Forgot about the new James Bond, i'll try to see it soon.
But yeah, The Edge of Quarrel is rather interesting I would say.
Super cheesy and I was laughing through out the entire thing.
The record store dude and the story behind him and the no fighting rule was too much.

Read a book on that failed attempt on hitler. There's been alot of criticism about that film though. Should be interesting though i think the trailer basically tells you the whole story.

I'll check out the defiance trailer now!!

Have you seen Downfall (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0363163/)? Its decent, but still worth watching.

Defiance seems interesting!

great film, the cinematography was fantastic, especially with the light and colour of the nature.

Tuntematon Sotilas ("The Unknown Soldier") maybe? That is an awesome movie!

"It is the summer of 1941. An eastern-Finnish machine gun company receives an order to turn in their surplus equipment. The company is transferred to the front lines. The next morning the soldiers wake to the sound of guns - the war has begun. The Finnish troops attack and quickly move across the border. The young, nervous rookies of the company get their baptism of fire, and the men become familiar with death and the hardships of war. Under strength and badly equipped they fight a superior enemy. The lists of heroes and of the dead seem endless. Edvin Laine's epic interpretation of Väinö Linna's war novel "Tuntematon Sotilas" is an entire chapter in the book of Finnish movie history."

They also made a newer version of that in color and I think its ok too, although it cant beat the first one, but I dont think they even tried that. Its just a little different and maybe more provocative politically, especially when showing higher officers killing soldiers from their own side who are retreating; kinda thing that high ranked army officials wouldnt like to see or people that want to glorify war.

oh right how dumb of me..set in '41. I thought that conflict was meant to be a baptism of fire for the Russians aswell. The Finns taught them a few lessons in winter warfare which they used to great affect against the German invasion.

Yeah, I saw the colour version.

Nice one.

This one was very good and inspirational. 11 different directors from 11 different countries have done 11 minute films as a reaction to the tragedy at WTC.
I liked the one from Burkina-Faso, but the one Sean Penn had done was pretty moving as well. Good stuff, I think I will buy this for myself.

Oh shit, Burn After Reading was super great... i always forget some.

6th day was half way interesting; particular how they dealt with putting the "mind" of the person in the new body. It was an interesting way to go with it.

Oh, American Blackout with Cynthia McKinney is an amazing documentary too:
