Hello!
NEW DIRECTION FEST is an all ages hardcore fest. It is planned for August 19 and 20 in Olympia, Washington (USA). The fest will feature bands and hardcore participants from around the US and the world who are involved in practically applying radical ideas in their everyday lives. We hope to re-invigorate radical/activist traditions within the hardcore music community.
We are searching for contributions of all kinds:
-Bands and people involved in hardcore that are willing and able to talk about their grassroots projects (community organizing, activism, anti-oppression work, labor organizing, etc.)
-Contacts of international hardcore bands that are involved in these types of activities
-Money! We want to have a very affordable cover price at the show, and hope to do fundraising to help pay out-of-country bands and speakers.
-Promotion: Anyone willing to flier in their area, spread the word through the internet, table at local shows, etc.
-Ideas: any advice regarding fest booking, promotion, etc...
