Celt - Rain By Struggle
My friend Koba (Loyal to the Grave, Unboy, Birthplace) sent me this and I was blown away. Heavy as hell chug hardcore. I hear a little Unearth in there as well. Self released CD by a great new up and coming band. I unfortunately only have 1 copy of this so get it fast.
Birthplace / No Choice In This Matter - Split
A pairing of 2 of Japan's finest. No Choice in This Matter plays fast hardcore in the Shutdown vein while Birthplace rocks in that chug vein that I dig so much. 3 originals from each band as well as a cover of each other's songs.
Unboy - Strength Through This Fire
Unboy features members of Loyal to the Grave and Birthplace and play hardcore in that 90s chug vein that Syracuse made so popular. The vocals are definitely more in a spoken way as opposed to the screaming you would expect from this style.
Asunto - Afirmacion De Vida
Asunto plays some serious metal in the Unearth vein. The vocals remind me of Howard from Killswitch Engage/Blood Has Been Shed. Lots of melody with some clean vocals. This band has been around sinc e1995 so check out their newest offering. Vocals are sung in Spanish but the insert provides English translations.
Condolencia - The Order That Shall Be
Heavy hardcore in the 90s vein with some serious death metal influences. if you dig bands like Morning Again, Day of Suffering, Culture, Obituary and maybe even Death with loads of double bass, then you are going to love this. Vegan justice lyrics.
xThe Battlex - All Shall Perish
xThe Battlex is a one man project influenced by Earth Crisis and Green Rage as well as newer bands like Nueva Etica. Militant vegan lyrics and loads of chug chug parts. Lyrics are sung in English.
Lookin In - Self Titled
The debut release from Australia's Lookin In. These guys play fast straight edge hardcore in the 90s youth crew revival vein of Floorpunch and In My Eyes. 8 songs.
Hard Luck - What Went Wrong?
Hard Luck is from Australia and burns through 10 songs on this 7 inch of Mental/Lockin Out Records/Outbreak influenced hardcore. You'd swear that Lockin Out would have released this circa 2005.I think their label went under so you may not get another shot at getting one of these so act fast.
Lightbringer - Inhumation
These guys really surprised me. 3 song self released 7 inch in the Holy Terror/Integrity vein. These guys are really taking the initiative and doing it themselves. Beautiful gatefold 7 inch with a bonus CD that includes the 3 songs so you don't have to rip them from the vinyl. Im expecting big things from these guys...don't sleep. These won't be around long once kids get wind of them.
Nueva Etica - Inquebrantable (LP with silk screened cover)
I was able to get a few copies of this on vinyl from Storm Of Justice. The debut full length from "the South American Mosh Machine". Vegan straight edge hardcore from Argentina. Special silk screened covers to boot. See where the legend began. Vocals are sung in Spanish.
